What is the difference between Nurkhamid, Nurhamid, Nur Khamid, or Nur Hamid?
There is no difference among the above names when we trace it from the origin of the name. It comes from arabic words: nur (or nuur) and hamid (or hameed). My name becomes written as Nurkhamid because of historical reason. When I was in Elementary School, my religion teacher used to write my name as Nur Hamid. Ha is to transliterate ح from Arabic alphabet. But in the elementary school certificate (diploma) one teacher wrote my name as Nurkhamid. This seems to be incorrect. But to simplify administrative problems, we chose not to revise the diploma. From that time on, my name become mistakenly written as Nurkhamid, not as Nur Hamid.
With space or without space? From the origin of the words (Arabic), they should be written with space because they consist of two Arabic words. But again, to simplify administrative problems, my name up to now is written as Nurkhamid. In my opinion, kha and ha are different. kha is for خ and ha is for ح. And of course, the meaning becomes different. Khamid has negative meaning, but Hamid has positive meaning. Thus, although my name is with kha, it should be written in Arabic with ح . This is a matter of past mistake in writing the name of an elementary school pupil.
